About your Instructor:

Since those of you enrolled in this course are also teachers in Pen Argyl, you know me from a professional  view so I will share some background information. I studied Therapeutic Recreation at the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse for two years before finishing my Bachelor's of Education degree from East Stroudsburg University with a concentration in recreation. As such, I believe that children learn through play and exploration. I have a Master's degree and certification in Instructional Technology from Wilkes University. I love how technology has opened doors to learning and exploration far beyond that walls of any classroom. I have always valued learning and believe that learning is a lifelong journey.

When I am "powered down, you might find me reading, hiking, golfing, boating or on my yoga mat.

I am excited to be offering this course for the Pen Argyl Area School District Teachers.

Expectations for this course

  • Participate in all discussions- This means give meaningful answers to questions. Back up your answers by referencing articles from assigned reading or others you find. Respond respectfully to others.
  • Complete assignments on time.
  • Communicate problems/questions with your instructor.

Weekly Routine

New material will be posted every Tuesday by noon. Everyone will be working on the course at a different time but I ask that you take a look at the material for the week and plan in your mind how you will complete the work each week. It is helpful to others that you try to participate in discussions by the week's halfway point so others can respond. participation in discussions is important as it helps each person experience a connection that is most similar to that of a traditional classroom.
