Day 14: How to Take Notes That Will Help You Out

Objective: Learn the Cornell Notes style of note taking by reviewing a presentation and actually completing a set of notes. 

Context

Taking notes in class and while studying is one of the most basic steps that you can take to make sure that you are successful. It is important that you take notes in a way that works for you whether it be in a notebook or on a computer. Regardless of how you take notes you should follow an organized format. In this lesson we will look at how to take Cornell style notes which is a very organized and effective method. 

Step 1: Cornell Notes 

Open up the Cornell Notes Template Links to an external site. and save a copy of it to your Drive. 

Step 2: Notes about Notes

Review the following presentation with your teacher and fill in the notes template with the main ideas for each topic. 

Step 3: Summary

Complete the summary portion of your notes by writing a 3 sentence summary.
